ME IN A BOX -- THE BASICS

Writing: I’ve been writing professionally since 1996, with credits that include TV, DVDs, internet shows, and books.

Family: I feel ridiculously lucky to have spent the last 12 years married to the love of my life. We have two incredible kids: one human, one canine.

Hobbies: I have a sick penchant for running marathons. I’ve done about 15 of them since 2000, and have two fulls and two halves on the docket for 2010. I’ve also become obsessed with stand-up paddleboarding, though I’ve only done it twice.

Best Job Perk: While researching my marathoners’ travel guide, Fodor’s The Traveling Marathoner, I got to travel the country, eating in incredibly decadent restaurants, staying in swanky hotels, and doing everything from taking cooking lessons in New Orleans, to swimming with dolphins and taking surfing lessons from firefighters in Honolulu, to traipsing all over Walt Disney World... all for free. Travel writing kinda rocks.

Most Recent Career Highlight: Hanging out on set with Fozzie Bear, Kermit the Frog, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, and many more Muppets... and hearing them play scenes that I wrote. Beyond surreal and thrilling.

Wanna See Some of My Work? Excellent! Right now you can catch my writing on TV in episodes of PBS’ Dinosaur Train or Sid the Science Kid. On DVD, you can find my work right now in Barbie in A Mermaid Tale, along with several other Barbie titles. As for books, my marathon book is out of date and out of print, but I have a very cool girls’ fairy-adventure book series. It’s a spinoff for Silky, a character from Enid Blyton’s Faraway Tree books, updated and fleshed out with new characters and a mythology all its own.
